When writing a letter to the an editor, do I cite the quote I used even if it was from the article im responding to?

you should, just to be on the safe side . but then again its completly your choice. ;D

In an actual letter to an editor you should site "quote" date published, page. That's about it. Anything more and they will probably ignore you. If this is for class pretending to write the editor, then cite everything.
