please help! :D a right triangle with an area of 30 square cm has a hypotenuse that is 8 cm longer than the shortest side. find the dimensions of the triangle.

hartnn (hartnn):

|dw:1347433963118:dw| let the shortest side be x hypotenuse = x+8 can u apply pythagoras theorem in that triangle?

hartnn (hartnn):

Also area =30 so 0.5xy=30 or xy = 60. ---->(1) the 2nd equation u get from pythagoras theorem.

hartnn (hartnn):

can u form the equation using pythagoras theorem ? @dydlf
