What properties of sound determine the pitch of sound? How is this affected by motion of the sound source? Be specific.

Frequency is the answer. But it's really due to wavelength. Wavelength normally corresponds to a specific frequency, but when a sound source moves towards you, the peaks of the wave hit you more frequently, so the frequency seems higher than what you'd hear if it weren't moving. |dw:1347442350907:dw|
