10 < –3x + 1

OpenStudy (jkristia):

solve for x as if it was a regular equation. Then rememebr to 'flip' the inequality sign when you multiply by -1 (that is you end up with -x, but want to change it to x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer please?

OpenStudy (jkristia):

what do you get?

OpenStudy (flywalker):

x<3 is what you at then end...

OpenStudy (flywalker):

get*

OpenStudy (jkristia):

-3, double check by saying -3(-3)+1 = 9 + 1 = 10. If not sure about whether x is > -3 or < -3, then try -4 and -2 and see which of the 2 satisfy the first equation.
