What are the functions of the nucleus?

Function is usually a direct consequence of structure in biology. As a place to start, what do you know about the structure of the nucleus?

The nucleus is like the manager of the company, there is the essential information that makes the company works properly. The main function of the nucleus is to keep the DNA, which contains the genetic information used in transcription (inside the nucleus) and afterward the translation in the cytoplasm. Another essential function that nucleus regulates is the cell division.
