The set E= {2x : x E Z} can be decribed by listing its elements, namely E = {...,-4,-2,0,2,4,...}. List the elements of the following sets in a similar manner. a) A={2x+1 : x E Z}, b) B={4n : n E Z} c) C={3q+1 : q E Z}

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so what is the difficulty here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just started this subject and don't really understand it... :( Do I just list all Z in a) b) and c)?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

something like that

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Z is the domain from which you get the values of x for the defining functions

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the example used: x=-1,-2,0,1,2 and dotted the rest

OpenStudy (amistre64):

there are a few notation that we can define sets by; the set builder notation is what they have given you, and they want you to put it into a roster notation (naming the elements)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I got it. Thank u

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks I need it.. ;)
