A golf championship has a maximum of 132 players. The tee-off times begin at 8:00 and are 8 mins apart. a) Write the first 4 terms of the arithmetic sequence, if the first tee-off time of 8:00 is considered to be at time 0. b) Following this schedule, how many players will be on the course after 1h, if the tee-off times are for groups of 4? Can someone help? I know the answers are 32 and 8n-8 respectively, but I can't reach them. Thank you!

First we have to write the first four terms of the arithmetic sequence beginning at t=0. This is just asking you to list the first five starting times for the golfers.

Okay, so I've done that: 0, 8,16,24 How would I find out how many golfers in 1 h?

The 8n-8 is the expression for the arithmetic sequence and doesn't seem to apply to the 2nd part. To find out how many golfers will be teed-off in an hour we simply have to count how many will have teed-off before the tee-off time reaches greater than 60 min.
