33 over 50 x 1% = (change it to a decimal please) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.0066

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

33/50 = 0.66 Now take 1% of this by multiplying that by 0.01 to get 0.0066

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TO JIM= so i divide 33 by 50 to get 0.66 then simply move the decimal over to the left twice after multiplying to get the correct answer .0066 ?correct? just wanted to make sure i actually know how to process this problem correctly :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you are correct elizabeth.a.fairweather that's one good way to think of it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am just plugging along trying to learn the processes in math so thanks for understanding haha

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[33\div50=0.66\] Then, to multiply by 1% or 0.01, we move the decimal two places to the left: 0.0066 Hope this helps! Remember when dealing with percents to change them to decimals!

awsome espresso thx :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 divided by 50 x 1% (so i do 1 divided by 50 to get 0.02 then multiply that by 0.01 to get 0.0002 is this correct way to solve on this similar problem???

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you nailed it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i convert .00027 to a percent

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Move the decimal over 2 spots to the right OR multiply the given number by 100

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Either way, the answer is 0.027 %
