WHAT WERE THE MAIN IDEAS AND WHO WERE THE MAJOR PERSONALITIES ASSOCIATED WITH LIBERALISM AND CONSERVATISM IN THE EARLY 19TH CENTURY? WHAT INFLUENCED THE IDEAS OF THE LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES IN THAT PERIOD?
Well
Conservatism is were you hold the values of tradition and keep a course and liberalism is were you are open minded and willing to accept new choices to advance.
Originally nowadays when you hear those terms used it doesnt really hold that true value anymore. The ideals have strayed from that.
So what would they be?
For the 19th century it would be things like free speech, justice, freedom and such. But conservatism would support values from tradition like they feel like if something si working we should never change it.
Have you ever heard the term "Liberating someone"?
Yes, freeing someone?
Sort of yes. Liberating someone could be opening them to a change or new idea like englightening them.
Were as conservatism means stay the course if its working great don't change we need our tradition.
But in current time republicans and democrates have sort of they still practice those fundamentals but its really complex because it goes anyway just its hard to explain.
Like American revolution was a act of liberalism. Ghandi was a act of liberalism. etc. things like that,
