I am doing adding and subtracting integers and now need to find the range between 7 and (-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the range of a set of numbers is the difference between the highest and lowest number in the set

ლ(ಠ_ಠლ)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that just not sure how to do the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so what does 7 + 3 = (here is range)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you would do 7-(-3). which is the same as saying 7+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so it is like adding and subtracting just another saying for it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you subtract a negative from another number it is the same as adding the two. so 7-(-3) think that the two negative signs and the open parenthesis looks like a plus sign.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then (-16) and (-6) the range would be -10 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
