45 mins = 1/4 of an hour

means the hour hand is 3/4 an hour away from 6
1 hour = 30 degrees
3/4*30= 22.5 degrees away

the hour hand is 22.5 degrees away from 6
the minute hand is 90 degrees away from 6

yeah but the final answer is 90 degrees due to the whole clock id 360 degrees and is divided into 12 intervals on the clock, each innterval is 30 degrees. from 7 to 9 there aare 3 intervals so the angke 3(30)=90. So yeah we got the same answer i just wanted to see if my way was right.
