since perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b)

2(x+2+x)=56

2(2x+2)=56

2x+2= 56/2

2x+2=28

2x=28-2

2x=26

x=13


length = x+2=13+2=15

\[\large{4(x+1)=56}\]
\[\large{x+1=\frac{56}{4}}\]
\[\large{x+1=14}\]
