Could I find the two missing side lengths of a right triangle if I only know one side length and one angle measure(other than the 90 degree angle)?

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

Had to draw a picture. lol. The answer is yes. By using a series of Trig (sin, cos, tan around the known angle and the side), you can figure out the other sides. Note that all angles are known, you are given the right angle and one other angle, this allows you to get the final angle. |dw:1347551342995:dw|

Does that help? Or do you need more information?

OpenStudy (luffingsails):

The thing I was stuck on was if there were contradictions (or cases where the given information wouldn't allow me to use the functions). The answer is, "I think not."

yeah it helps a little

thanks
