Rewriting Formulas...

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

A=\[\frac { 1 }{ 2}bh\]

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

solve for b

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

@hartnn help please?

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

I know everything is being multiplied.

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

but when dividing do I divide by \[\frac{ 1 }{ 2}h\]

hartnn (hartnn):

yup or, u need to isolate b right ? so what is multiplied to b and what is divided by b ??

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

multiplied to b is 1/2 and h

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

but the answer isn't 1/2h = b

hartnn (hartnn):

can i tell, b is divided by 2 ??

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Yes

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

My teacher said the answer was... 2a/h=b

hartnn (hartnn):

so to get rid of that division by 2, u multiply 2 on both sides, what u get ?

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

2a=bh

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

oh

hartnn (hartnn):

and your teacher is correct...

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

@hartnn Thanks!

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome :)
