What were Lincoln's plans for dealing with defeated Southern states? ...After the civil war, leading towards Reconstruction...

OpenStudy (chrisneedshelp):

lincolns plans were to reunify the states but abolish the southern slavery acts, due to this, ive read some southern soldiers diaries and some of the men had starved themselves because lincoln stated that he would stop the supply of food to the southern states as long as they still do slavery, and men starved, also soldiers who came back from the war would not get paid or fed
