Find the center and radius of a circle. the equation is x^2 + (y-1)^2=1

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

hint: the equation of a circle is \[\huge (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2\] where: (h,k) is the center r = radius does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know the equation of the circle i dont know where to start to find my radius etc

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

to get the radius...just take the square root of the number on the right side of the equation

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

do you know what the square root of 1 is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so its one but how about the center

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what is your h here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be zero?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

yes

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what about k?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K is 1 i think

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right. so the center woul be...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(0,1)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for your help

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

welcome
