?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

sum of arithmetic sequence huh

hartnn (hartnn):

this is an arithmetic series with first term a= 39 , common difference d = 1 and last term an = 112 the sum of this series is given by S=n/2(a+an) can u find the sum now ?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

use the formula \[\huge S_n = \frac{n(a_1 + a_n)}2\] where: n = number of terms a1 = first term a_n = last term does that help?

hartnn (hartnn):

to get n = number of terms, u do last term - 1st term +1 so n= 112 - 39 +1 = ?
