How would a root, such as a potato or a rutabaga, most likely gain mass in a hypotonic water solution? - by osmosis - by diffusion - by growth

I'm not sure what this has to do with history, but the answer is probably osmosis. Hypotonic means that the water is less concentrated than the potato or rutabaga and because water flows from lower concentration to higher concentration to equalize the concentration inside and out, the water will flow into the potato/rutabaga causing it to bloat and gain mass
