I am writing a minature story for HOPE about a girl suffering from an eating disorder... In the story another girl finds her after she vomited. What word/term could I substitute in for "she noticed she was vomiting"? I need the reader to know this but I dont want to say it cuz its "blah"... It'd go after this:

Amy noticed a different expression on the “happy, perfect girl”… it was a sad and sick look.
What about "she was gagging"?
