You combine like terms by adding 9c + 4c then add -6d + -3d you should get a number for C and then for D thats simplified

Do what xBenjix said, however, don't apply subtraction and you should end up with 13c - 9d. :) Soooo, 9c - 6d + 4c -3d 9c +4c = 13c 6d + 3d = 9d 13c - 9d is your answer.
