t-5=7

OpenStudy (moonlitfate):

To solve the equation, you have to isolate t (get it by itself). Add 5 to both sides and t is equal to 12.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t=12

6=w-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand how to do it

OpenStudy (moonlitfate):

Okay. You have to get the variable, in this case w by itself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would add both by?

OpenStudy (moonlitfate):

You would have to add 7 to both sides. That gets rid of it on the one side, since it's the opposite of subtraction. What you do to one side of an equation, you have to do to the other side. Does that make a bit more sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thxs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but why do you add 7 why not 6
