why protein in not normally found in urine?

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

protein is TOO large to be filtered during ultrafiltration in the glomerulus, therefore they're broken down to amino acids to be ultrafiltered. these amino acids are then parted from the urea (and uric acid) which is harmful and are selectively reabsorbed. If proteins are present in urine, somethin must be wrong cos CLEARLY the basement membrane in the glomerulus isnt working properly @miss_AJ
