I'm not very good at thesis statements and this is very important. Write a thesis statement for the following question. "Although New England and the Chesapeake region were both settled largely by people of English origin, by 1700 the regions had evolved into two district societies. Why did this difference in development occur?"
Someone please help me write a good thesis statement.
according to http://www.indiana.edu/~wts/pamphlets/thesis_statement.shtml a thesis statement is a one sentence answer to the question "Why did this difference in development occur?" so you need an answer. One possible answer is though both groups were English, the New England settlers were puritans escaping religious persecution and the Chesapeake settlers were Anglican (Church of England). Write a sentence that states the difference in development was a consequence of the religious beliefs of the two groups. You should do some research to see if this answer makes much sense.
Thank you very much for you, I was on the corner of giving up.
Can slavery also play a factor?
Is this a good thesis statement? The New England and Chesapeake regions by the 18th century developed into two distinct societies as religious beliefs played a part in the differences in development.
