\[\sqrt{w}+5=20\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtract 5 from both sides to get: 15 = sqrt(w) From there you can take both sides to the second power to get: w = 15^2 w = 225

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember to do reverse order of operations when solving these - add/subtract from both sides first, then do your multiplication/division, finally dealing with exponents.

OpenStudy (pradius):

\[\sqrt{w}= 20- 5 \] \[w = 15^{2}\]
