A physics book has 40 square inches of print per page each page has a left-side margin of 1.7 inches, and top, bottom, and right-side margins of .4 inch. If a page cannot be wider than 7.4 inches, what should its dimensions be to use the least amount of paper?

How would you find the area of a page? You multiple the width by the length, correct? You are also given what area can be printed on - find an equation that relates the two together, so you now have an equation that relates page dimensions with printable area. Can you take it from here?

yeah i think so. thanks
