An example that might help explain this is to take a look at some the apartment skyscrapers in a place like New York City. The penthouses located at the very top of those go for millions of dollars while the apartments inside the building beneath it are worth less, if only by a small margin. People with a lot of money are always looking at ways to "move on up" in the world and one they do that is to buy themselves into some of the rarest real estate in a place like NYC - right above everyone else.
