Im an 11th grade high school student and im trying to find out the concepts of trigonomentry. It's more challenging than i thought.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

I can help you understand trig!! It's easy once you have someone who can explain it good =)

OpenStudy (eyust707):

check it out

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Trigonometry is essentially the study of triangle. Triangle are interesting because we can do a lot of cool math to find out unknown things about a triangle.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

We usually begin teaching trig with the right triangle because it is the easiest to work with.|dw:1347755783970:dw|

OpenStudy (eyust707):

That square sign means its a right angle |dw:1347755798144:dw|

OpenStudy (eyust707):

We can use the trig functions to solve for parts of the triangle we do not know.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

As stated earlier the trig functions are: "sin" "cos" and "tan"

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Have you ever been taught these?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there a formula for that? I didn't learn it yet.

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Yes there are many formulas.. i will teach you the most basic ones

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Lets start with a triangle |dw:1347756016462:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For "sin'' cos" and tan?

OpenStudy (eyust707):

This arrow represents an angle.. |dw:1347756024175:dw|

OpenStudy (eyust707):

lets say its 30 degrees|dw:1347756079297:dw|

OpenStudy (eyust707):

Now if we look at that angle we notice that there is one side right next to it and one side across from it

OpenStudy (eyust707):

The side next to it we call "adjacent" |dw:1347756151531:dw|
