what is the volume of a cube if its total surface area is 54 dm^2

OpenStudy (aripotta):

27

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i guess you need that explained lol. i'm so tired

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Surface Area of a Cube = \[6s^2\] Solve for s, and then plug it into the volume formula V = s^3

OpenStudy (aripotta):

54/6 (there's 6 sides) = 9 square root of 9 = 3 3 x 3 x 3 = 27

OpenStudy (aripotta):

does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of course :)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

:)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

oh, and that would be cubed
