numerical can only be understood if theoretically you have gone through everything ...and sound understanding of theory will let you know what a question is asking...just remember few fundamental laws that is applied everywhere like Q=U+W

well first of all calorimetry and thermodynamics are interrelated, secondly it was just an example,.... like that there are laws in calorimetry that will make you go through the problems
