solve the following equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 2 }{ x-1 } = \frac{ 2x }{ 2x-3 } = 3\]

hartnn (hartnn):

first take, 2/(x-1)=3 multiply (x-1) on both sides, what do u get ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry firat fraction is x+1

hartnn (hartnn):

so 2/(x+1)=3 multiply x+1 to both sides, and tell me what u get....

hartnn (hartnn):

u get 2=3(x+1) so 2=3x+3or 3x=-1 x=-1/3 ok ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is x-1 hartnn
