When a ferromagnetic substance goes through hysteresis loop, magnetic susceptibility___________ a)remains constant b)may be zero c)may be infinite d)may be negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's positive and so as per me "C" should be the answer. Just read on wikipedia. And also if it's pure feromagnetic then it has to have infinite suscepitance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_susceptibility

But the answer given is b,c,d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did not know it was multiple choice. I took it to be, one right answer. and I assumed an Ideal feromagnet. you know the hysteresis loops curve?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup
