What was the Chinese Empire's relationship to conquered people? (How did they benefit the people they conquered? How were they treated?)

They benefited them by controlling them and protecting them, such an example is this, the great wall of china was built by the chinese emperor in order to protect its kingdoms, and people from the attacks of the mongolians,(mongols), the Huns(HUNGARIANS) and the Eurasians, people like me from russia, so they treated the people fairly, but when there was war men had to fight and there was a stable goverment
