I need math help a.s.a.p on perimeter of a rectangle.? the perimeter of a rectangle is 46 feet. The width is 3ft less than twice the length. Find the length and width of the rectangle. step by step is appreciated so i can see where i went wrong.
what did you do to solve this problem?
the perimeter is the total length of all the sides combined, or 2l + 2b where l is the length and b is the breadth of the rectangle.
it is given that the width is 3 less than twice the length. this means that b = 2l-3
i missed up pretty bad on it
so you have b = 2l -3 and 2l + 2b = 46 solve these two equations to get b and l
messed*
i got 14 and 11 but its wrong
that means you didn't solve the two equations I supplied correctly. Try again and post each step on here.
okay

i don't know if the last one is right
is this how i get 10?
a simple way to check that is to see if the width is indeed twice the length minus 3. width is 10 and length is 13 according to your answer. twice the length is 2 times 13 = 26. 26 minus 3 is 23. which is not the width you got. therefore your answer is wrong.
