Cx+Gy=K ,for x?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

\[Cx+Gy=K\] First Step: subtract both sides by Gy @C$ would you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says math processing error? would you mind retyping it?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Cx+Gy=K subtract both sides by Gy, would you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you would think to if it were numbers but idk how with letters? you subtrat Gy from K? what would you get KGy?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

I'll explain this to you variables ( or letters) also follow the same rules If I had x+4=6 I'd subtract 4 from both the sides x+4-4=6-4 so here also we'll do the same Cx+Gy=K subtract both sides by Gy Cx+Gy-Gy=K-Gy do you get this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gotcha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then..

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Now what would you get on the left side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cx = K-Gy ?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Good, now divide both sides by C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x = K-Gy/C ?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Yeah |dw:1347856542077:dw| :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my, i did it :) hell yeah! Thanks so much.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Glad to help you :)
