Find the value of the height, h m, in the following diagram at which the tennis ball must be hit so that it will just pass over the net and land 5 meters away from the base of the net. Round to the nearest hundredth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. 4 m B. 6 m C. 5 m D. 7 m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use similar triangle property 2/5=h/15 h=15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do i do for that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dnt get wht u wanna say?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like what do i do to get my answer ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as angle(Q) is same then there tanQ ia also same =>tan(Q)= 2/5 for small triangle and =h/(5+10) so equate them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@alainabbyboo22 like thes u can do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't understand ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first tell me which lesson ur studing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the lesson is Similar Triangles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k then there are 2 triangles in diagram small and big both are similar by angle angle angle( aaa) similarity so sidea are in ratio

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i posted the picture that goes with this .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i saw it just name the vertices and then post the image then i will tell u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really don't understand what i have to do . divide ? multiply numbers ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just look at problem ones seperate two triangles whish u can see then apply AA similarity one angle in common one 90 .... thus both are similar....then take ratio of there bases

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try it i will tak u tmmrw
