why is it that we hear loud bass but not the vocals when v are far away from music system ??

The maximum angle that waves will diffract around an obstacle is related to the wavelength. The longer the wavelength, for a given size obstacle, the more the waves will bend around the obstacle. Hence shorter-wavelength sound is more rapidly absorbed by intervening obstacles.
