I like that it is dependable. When everything else in my life is crazy and disorganized, flakes, or falls apart, I know that if I follow the steps exactly the way they were written i WILL get the right answer. 5*2 will ALWAYS equal 10. I also love that it takes ALL of my attention so I am not thinking about the other depressing stuff going on in my life. When I am not motivated to do anything else, I do math homework.

In this manner it does relive anxiety. It is logical to believe that it can help anxiety. However, I can also see how it can be anxiety producing if the problem is way way way to time consuming or if a person does not know the mathematical rules in order to get the right answer.

In fact, I am on openstudy tonight to assist students with math since I had a rough day.
