Identify the number as rational or irrational. Explain. -√127

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An irrational number cannot be expressed in the form p/q whereas a rational number can be expressed in the p/q form. Rational numbers have either a terminating decimal representation or a non-terminating but recurring/repeating decimal representation whereas irrational numbers have a non-terminating and non-repeating decimal representation. Since sqrt(127) is a non-terminating and non repeating decimal expansion, the given number is an irrational number.
