Hi I am trying to sketch the graph of the equation y=5-2x. How do I do this? Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pretty simple. First take all the variables on the left hand side and all the constant terms on the right.

then put in values that satisfy the given equation, for example in your case 2x+y= 5 so you can put x=0,1,2 if u put 3 or more than 3 the equation will exceed the constant term and will be incorrect. Same goes with y. Put in the values that satisfy the equation. Mark em on a graph paper and join em together.

if u put 3 or mroe than 3 as value of x*

Oh, I did not know I could rearrange the problem like that! Thanks!

your most welcome. :)
