I need help interpreting this case. I do not understand who is the accused and who is the appellant and who is the respondent.

If you blame somebody for something wrong, that person is the 'accused'. If you go to a court and file a case against somebody for doing some crime against you,you are the accuser and he is the accused. The person who appeals is the appellant. For example,if you are not satisfied with a court decision or verdict, you can appeal for a revision. In that case you are the appellant. I have answered your question, so I am the respondent.

But how do you interpret that on a case? for example this one is the one i am having trouble with https://scc.lexum.org/en/2008/2008scc19/2008scc19.html
