what is the domain of this function : f(x)= 1/(x^2-7x+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the zeros to the bottom equation and those are your restrictions for the domain, ie. x is an element of R, x=/=(zeros)

so since this is not factorable i have to use the quadratic formula ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, if there are no solutions then -infinity < x < infinity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If there are solutions but not factorable, then quadratic formula. Check by putting the equation into a graphing calculator
