http://chemistry.about.com/od/chemistryterminology/a/Heterogeneous-Vs-Homogeneous.htm do these definitions help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_potting_soil_a_homogeneous then this answers what potting soil is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, thanks. i just got confused because potting soil seems like it would be uniform throghout and not the granola. Im a new chemisty student, and its defintely not my strongest subject so far. thanks alot! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but then from what i can see a granola bar is heterogenous too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think they both are

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080827173308AAnXfMW here is says a granola bar is actualy heterogeneous too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh...thats explains the confusion. thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there an option to say both on your hw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope. its a study guide and says one letter to each and wont be used twice so i just went with potting soil being a homogeneous mixture because to me it seems more uniform throghout than granola with fruit. Do you think that seems more likely?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i agree with you i hate when homework is like that lol
