Scientists use electron and magnetic microscopes to better their research. Using these microscopes help them to see cells, etc. that they couldn't see with the naked eye. Using computer models to study a new medicine is better than giving the medicine to human patients because we can tell specifically what the medicine will do to the body. It is never good to use a human as the guinea pig, because there are health concerns. Will this medicine help my liver work better but reduce function of my heart? We wouldn't want to find out by having a person try it out. This is why computer models are handy. No risk is taken on the human.
