OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

We need an option to unsubscribe from a certain question. It's annoying when you move on, and keep getting certain notifications.

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

U came backk!

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

Personally i don't find this annoying at all.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Aw kc isn't happy to see me :/. Anyway, @Geometry_Hater it gets frustrating for me at times, and I'm sure quite a few users would agree.

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

do you think it would be better if the notification doesn't pop up?

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

No... you didn't follow. Like you know how on facebook when you comment on something you get notifications as soon as others start commenting under it too. Well facebook added this "Unfollow post" button a few months ago I believe, and if you clicked on it, you would not get notifications after people commented or liked that status/event/picture anymore. So what I'm saying is, we need to have that button on every question we respond to so that we could stop getting notifications from those questions. Like I find it annoying when I answer a question, and then move on, and get a notification saying that abc responded to xyz, so I go back to that question to see what's going on, but sometimes it's a conversation that two users start under that thread. So from that point on I wouldn't want to receive notifications, or unsubscribe from that question. Does this make sense? @Geometry_Hater @farmdawgnation @mattfeury

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

OH your talking about Facebook...Oh well it does not affect me any way because i dont even use Facebook.

That's a great idea @bahrom7893. I find it annoying too. Sometimes its happened to me when I'm halfway through a long answer and then get a notification. I go and see what's going on at that answer and find out that the asker has just typed 'Please someone help', and my long answer goes unposted too. Its happened to me a couple of times but I've become wary since then.

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

@bahrom7893 What makes u thinkk that!! If i was not wanting you here, then i would have not said anythin! Welcome back to OpenStudy bahrom!

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

I've had this idea before as well, and I do think it's a good one, but it requires a bit of design and development work, so it's not very high priority. As a temporary stopgap, I believe once you receive a notification for a question, you should not receive another one until the initial one is marked as read. Let us know if that's not working for you.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

actually every time I go to the question from a notification, then switch to another one, I still get a notification after someone posts under it even if I did read it before. But ok, I can deal with it.
