x-2y=1, for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're isolating the y! Just remember what you do to one side you do the other. Does that help out a bit? Your first step is to subteact x from both sides. Now you continue the rest and tell me what you get (:

i just want an asnwer-__-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2y=1-x y=-1/2-x/2 is this right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=x-1/2 Your error was dividing the -2 on both sides. Negatives can't stay at the bottom!
