OpenStudy (3psilon):

A cube with volume 8 cubic centimeters is inscribed in a sphere so that each vertex of the cube touches the sphere. What is the length of the diameter , in centimeters , of the sphere?

OpenStudy (3psilon):

I keep getting \[2\sqrt{2}\] but it says it's \[2\sqrt{3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, it's 2 * sqrt(3). I'll explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The lenght of a cube side is 2 cm, and half that is 1 cm. You have to do 2 right triangles to get the length from the center of the cube to a vertex.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Conceptualize the cube as 8 little cubes each being 1 cm on its edges. With me so far?
