A carpet outlet advertises a price of $470.40 to carpet a 12-foot by 16-foot room. If a customer was given a price of $725.20 for carpeting a room that is 16 feet wide, what is the length of the room?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

first find the area of the carpet advertised. then find how much it cost per sq ft. then find out what the area of the customer's carpet needs to be to have that price. put the price into the equation x = 16L, where x is the area of the customer's and L is the length. solve for L. do you have any questions on how to do that?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

put the area into the equation*
