Just use the kinematic equation:\[d=V_0t+\frac{1}{2}at^2\]and solve it for each time t.
Since it states "from rest", it should be clear that V0 should be 0...so that simplified to:\[d=\frac{1}{2}at^2\]In case it's not clear, a=acceleration due to gravity (-9.8m/s^2).

Giving you the answer directly isn't going to help at all. In fact, it'll just make things worse, because you'll have moved ahead in class without understanding. Sometimes it's just going to be hard work. There are single problems that I've worked on for over two hours. The good news is, now they're easy to me. You can get there, too. If it's hard, it just means you need more practice. Go out and look for supplemental books like the Schaum's guides, where you can see worked exercises. It'll help a ton.

I would suggest not to give up. Try watching some online videos...there are tons of them out there. Here's a popular site for students which has tons of physics videos which are easy to follow: http://www.khanacademy.org/science/physics Since you're doing motion stuff, click on the "Mechanics" link
