Solve for factors Question in comments

OpenStudy (andriod09):

\[\left( x+5 \right)^{2}\]

mathslover (mathslover):

is anything given for Right Hand side ?

mathslover (mathslover):

like : \[\large{(x+5)^2=0}\] ?

OpenStudy (andriod09):

no i have to factor it.

mathslover (mathslover):

You can write like this : (x+5)(x+5) .. or it is better in (x+5)^2

mathslover (mathslover):

already factored

OpenStudy (andriod09):

you basicly have to "unfactor" it.

OpenStudy (andriod09):

like:

mathslover (mathslover):

ok so it will be ; (a+b)^2 = a^2+b^2+2ab put a = x and b = 5

OpenStudy (andriod09):

\[20c ^{2}+23c -21\]

mathslover (mathslover):

\[\large{(x+5)^2=x^2+25+2(x)(25)}\]

OpenStudy (andriod09):

and unfactor it.

mathslover (mathslover):

oops I meant : \[\large{x^2+25+2(x)(5) }\]

OpenStudy (andriod09):

you mean: \[(x ^{2}+10x+25)\]

mathslover (mathslover):

yes
