witch of the following is clostest to the same thickness of a dime ? 3 kilometers 3 millimeters 30 centimeters 30 meters

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

3 millimeters is the smallest of all of the units. Imagine a 30km thick dime...

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

Our starting point for measurement is usually cm (centimeters). Some facts first: 1m = 100cm, 1mm = 0.1cm, and 1km = 1000m (= 100000cm). Now 3 kilometers would be 300000cm (a pretty average length of a road), 30 meters (The length from your garage to the road), 30cm (the length of about 5/8 your hand from the middle finger to the shoulder) and 0.3cm. Imagine the difference and you'll see that 30 millimeters makes the most sense for the thickness of a dime.
